New Model Review - Universal Hobbies Massey Ferguson 9S.425 Model Tractor

Released at Europe's largest agricultural technology event, Agritechnica, in 2023, the Massey Ferguson 9S is a striking tractor with an all new design. Massey Ferguson have described the 9S range of tractors as being "the new straightforward and dependable fleet flagship". Universal Hobbies used this event to launch the new 1:32 Universal Hobbies Massey Ferguson 9S.425.

So, what does the 9S range of tractors offer? Six models, ranging from 285hp to 425hp, featuring Massey Fergusons Protect-U design - an 18cm gap between the bonnet and the cab, isolating the engine from the cab cutting cab noise to create a more pleasant operator environment.

The tractor modelled by Universal Hobbies is the Massey Ferguson 9S.425, with a Dyna-VT CVT transmission and powered by a 425hp AGCO Power 6 cylinder, 8.4 Litre engine.

A detailed look at the NEW Universal Hobbies Massey Ferguson 9S.425

Universal Hobbies have been great at providing us with a range of Massey Ferguson models over the years from a variety of eras and designs. But it is the 9S where we see a big step change in design and features of Massey Ferguson's high horsepower tractors, making this model a must have for the Massey Ferguson fan. 

Firstly, this model has been created using the new tooling used by Universal Hobbies, to deliver a high quality and detailed model. This highly detailed tractor features a precise cab interior, cab roof aerials and GPS reciever, front linkage, operational steering and rear linkage. The front and rear linkage feature the extendable top link as seen on many of the other newer Universal Hobbies models. The link arms on the rear of the tractor are also compatible with the traditional 1:32 style coupling but also features hooks to attach to realistic type couplings.

A neat feature of the Universal Hobbies Massey Fergusons 9S.425 is that it features the new central tyre inflation system. Unlike this tractors cousins from manufacturer Fendt, the hoses are not integrated on the front wheels. The external routing of the central tyre inflation system is a nice detail for this farm model.
