About the Real Machine
The David Brown 1690 Turbo was introduced in 1982 as part of the renowned 90 Series, representing the final generation of tractors built under the David Brown name before full integration into Case IH. Powered by a turbocharged 5.9-litre six-cylinder engine producing approximately 108 hp, it offered a perfect balance of strength, reliability, and efficiency. The model’s full-time 4WD system, combined with its durable 12F/4R gearbox and spacious cab, made it well suited to the demands of mixed and arable farms across the UK. Its timeless white and red colour scheme, paired with its smooth-running turbo engine, ensured its place as one of the most recognisable tractors of the 1980s.
